Tokyo, Japan — Cook Medical Japan is pleased to announce that its company’s name and legal form in Japan will change from ‘Cook Japan K.K. (Kabushiki Kaisha)’ to ‘Cook Medical Japan G.K. (Godo Kaisha)’ effective from 1 April 2020. Greg Mullinax has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer Japan, reporting to Jean-Marc Creissel, Vice president and Director of Asia-Pacific.
In his new role, Mullinax will lead the Japan team to achieve operational excellence as a truly modernised company that enhances customer experience and patients care across the country.
‘Greg has a deep understanding of medical device industry and culture in the Japan market’, said Creissel, ‘In addition to his global exposure, I am confident that he and his team will contribute to medical care and patients in Japan with the highest standards of product quality, ethics, and service’.
Mullinax has more than 25 years of leadership experience in the medical device industry. In addition to his new role, Mullinax is the Director of Regulatory Affairs for the Asia- Pacific region. Prior to joining Cook Medical, he served as President for German, Israeli and British companies in Japan, where he gained insight into Japanese business customs, culture and markets. Mullinax attended International Christian University in Japan and is fluent in both written and spoken Japanese. He also has a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and is a member of the Illinois Bar.
Effective from 1 April 2020, Cook Medical will change its company name and legal form in Japan from ‘Cook Japan K.K. (Kabushiki Kaisha)’, a joint-stock company to ‘Cook Medical Japan G.K. (Godo Kaisha)’ a limited liability company.
‘The name change will help us establish a clear public image as a global healthcare company’, said Mullinax.
The character notation will also be changed from the alphabet to katakana, the well-known component of the Japanese writing system for transcription of foreign language words. ‘An updated corporate name will enhance our presence and reputation in the market, not only for our customers and patients but also for attracting new talent’, added Mullinax.
